Hayao Miyazaki (born 05 January 1941) is a Japanese illustrator ,animator ,director ,producer ,screenwriter, author and manga artist. A co-founder of Studio Ghibli, he has attained international acclaim as a masterful storyteller and creator of animated feature films and is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished filmmakers in the history of animations.
Hayao Miyazaki 's art style is unique, distinct and combines both Japanese and American together. He uses a mixture of innovative animation techniques to produce ethereal and breathtaking landscapes, scenery and environment..
I am in love with his ability to create in depth magical narratives that feel real because of their details, striking a balance between fantasy and reality.
He is one of my favorite illustrators because of the strong themes that he conveys ,such as environmentalism ,pacifism ,feminism ,love and family. My favorite trait of Miyazaki 's work is the way he portrays strong young women characters as heroes themselves, he describes his characters as "brave ,self- sufficient that don't think twice about fighting for what they believe in with all their heart ;need a friend , or a supporter but never a savior ,any woman is capable of being a hero as any man". Miyazaki ' s work often emphasize themes as anti-war, environmentalism, the Earth' s fragility and how the human kind is destroying everything.

Almost all of Studio Ghibli’s animation techniques is very traditional. This being said, all of their frames are hand drawn before being put together to create movement. This process is both repetitive and extremely laborious but Hayao Miyazaki believes that hand drawing is the fundamental of animation.
The process: everything begins with an idea>From script to screen, the idea is developed into a story>then, characters and costumes are designed and created. In doing so, also creates the atmosphere and settings the film is featured in>The story is then turned into a storyboard and is used to illustrate the key frames to produce movements>After the scenes are drawn out, color is added and painted. Note: the backgrounds and characters are drawn separately>The characters are placed onto the background, which creates a frame. Each frame is shot individually>Dialogue & audio is added and then the director ensures that everything syncs together naturally>After the film is developed, it is ready to debut!

I talk about Miyazaki in my art book for my current project as he is one of my inspiration and part of my artist research.
I sketched and painted with watercolors few scenarios from two of his animated movies that are my favorites and I adore .
