*Horror*

Writer: Maria AcostandeiMaria Acostandei

I have always been fascinated and loved horror movies and stories, they keep me on edge

and stimulate my mind easily, keeping me wondering what is going to happen next.

As I was looking for inspiration for the final poster project, I looked through some old horror movies poster and decided to recreate some to play around with colors and layouts. For the first drawing, on the left, the key was the color red and black acrylic, going for a classic look. I mixed the original movie with the parody one because I thought the dramatic contrast was funny.

The second one,[JU-ON] on the left is a bit darker and strictly painted with black and white acrylics, with some shades of blue and grey. I used black mostly to accentuate the features of the ghosts' s facial expressions/lineaments.

Finally the last one on the bottom right, is inspired by the movie "A nightmare on Elm Street", whose monster terrified me when I was a child. Since it' s involved in the 1990's I tried to create an imaginary of an old newspaper like in the movie. I folded and stretched the paper to ruin it, ripped it off and burn it ,additionally adding newspapers and magazines.
